Stephanie and Shaun booked me just a little more than a month before their wedding. While together for about 12 years, their engagement was a short one. From what I hear, Stephanie is an organized, planning, person, which is the kind of person you need to be to pull off a wedding in a short period of time.
On the big day, I met up with Stephanie and her girls at the Atlantica. Their sushi delivery arrived at the same time as they did, rather convenient from a timeline standard. Everyone seemed pretty relaxed as they got ready. When Stephanie’s 2 nieces arrived, she had a little gift for each of her flower girls. The gift included some kids makeup, including lipstick. You probably have images in your head already of what happened with that, and you’re right. As a father with a daughter not much younger than the youngest flower girl, I had visions of my future as I saw the lipstick all over the girls faces. Luckily none of that lipstick wound up on Stephanie’s dress.
Their wedding ceremony was held at Cole Harbour Woodside United Church with the reception at the Atlantica Hotel in Halifax. We went to Shubie park for photos in between and I can attest to the fact that it was a cold day. Fall was definitely in the air that day, rather annoying that the next couple of days were much warmer, but those are the risks you take when you have an October wedding. It all worked out though and we got some great pictures as the wedding party thought warm thoughts.
With the photos done, the party began. I’ll let the photos below speak to that.
